Art
Photography
Ever since I picked up a 35mm camera in my junior year of high school, photography has been an artistic medium, which features heavily in all of my work. And I have been by the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Richard Avedon. Whether defining a moment or motion, each used photography as a medium for storytelling. And wherever I go, I take photographs which tell a story of a mood, a time, and a place.
Printmaking
During my last year of architecture school, I took a course in printmaking. Like film photography, printmaking is a collaborative process art, where the production of a print requires a wealth of knowledge in materials and chemistry. In this process, I found that I could give shape and form to many of the concepts I had but were difficult to visualize. Seeking to learn more about all types of printmaking, I was accepted as a teaching assistant intern at the prestigious Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop (RBPMW) at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York. RBPMW is a cooperative printmaking workspace that provides printmaking facilities and education to artists and printmakers of all skill levels.
Textiles
Literally, the fibers which bind, textiles have serviced all of one’s external needs since pre-historic times. My affinity for textiles stems from being a kinesthetic learner, as textiles are haptic mystery of material, pattern, and fabrication techniques.
